Anything and everything!  Expose yourself to the good, bad and ugly.  Make decisions for yourself on the right and wrong way to do things as long as you are basing your opinions on ID standards.
1) Learn to design an instructional strategy for web-based training by working with a web-based training developer.
2) Play with different software programs such as Articulate Studio, Adobe Captivate, Lectora, Firefly, ect.  See what does what so you have a better understanding of all possibilities.
3) Focus on defining your role - become an expert in areas that intrigue you.  Whether it be simulations, Second Life, or LMS… find your spot in the eLearning role.
